Building Careers & Making an Impact: Lucy’s Journey at Heat Recruitment

March 6, 2025

Recruitment isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about building relationships, understanding people, and making meaningful connections. For Lucy, that’s what makes every day exciting.

As part of our International Women’s Day campaign series, we’re shining a spotlight on different women across our Group to showcase the diversity, expertise, and overall brilliance of the women of BGI.

Today, we’re spotlighting, Lucy Warman, our Managing Consultant in Heat Recruitment. As a Managing Consultant, she’s helping professionals shape their careers while supporting businesses in finding the right talent to grow.

From Customer Service to Recruitment Success

After finishing university in 2016, Lucy took time out to travel and complete a ski season, an experience that shaped her love for meeting new people and adapting to different environments.

When she returned to the UK, friends in the recruitment industry encouraged her to give it a try, given her strong background in customer service.

Nearly seven years later, she hasn’t looked back.

This has been helped by the support from the SLT team at Heat, which has never wavered. Especially when Lucy relocated to her home town in 2021 and became a full time remote worker.

A Day in the Life

No two days are the same in recruitment, and that’s exactly what Lucy loves.

Her day is filled with conversations. Building relationships with clients, advising on salary benchmarks, understanding hiring trends, and qualifying new roles.

She also spends time speaking with active and passive candidates, helping them navigate their next career move.

From interview prep to offer negotiations, Lucy ensures every candidate has the right guidance and insight to make informed decisions.

Career Highlights

Recruitment is all about persistence, understanding, and delivering value. For Lucy, two standout moments in her career reflect just that:

  • Being recognised with the ‘Heat’s Recruiter’ award in 2024 and the ‘Values Champion’ award in 2020. Both acknowledgments of her dedication and impact.
  • Successfully placing four candidates within a company that previously had a strict preferred supplier list. By truly understanding their culture, values, and goals, Lucy was able to build trust and deliver results.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Lucy’s focus for the rest of the year is clear.

To continue to strengthen relationships with clients and candidates across the Southeast and London.

To continue to play a key role in the continued growth of Heat’s Financial Services desk.

Recruitment may be fast-paced, but for Lucy, it’s about more than just hiring. It’s about making a lasting impact.
